Research strategy
My group used a range of different research, as one of the things we had to do was primary research. We did this by being able to present a power point presentation, after we had presented our presentation we would therefore ask our class if they had any question that they needed to ask us about what we had talked about and what we had chosen for our music video and how we could as a group improve our video. Also in our group we all had to have a roll that had fitted each of us in our group. We also had to do some research on our chosen song to see if it was alright to use.
In this unit which was Unit 22 we did some type of secondary research which therefore involved looking at the type of genre that would best for my group and to how well we would put the video together. for the type of video we choose we also had to decide on the location that we best fit our video type. We also based this on to what other people liked and to what they would to watch, so that my group would be but also the people that view the video. Another part of the secondary research we did was to research the equipment we was going to use to check the cost of hiring the camera that we needed to use to make our music video. Then after that my group then viewed and analysed different music videos that was in the same category that we was using.
Then as a group we done some research on our group to see what they liked to listen to. We therefore organised them into gender and age. We therefore found out that the target audience would be 15+ and they would be a mix of both males and females
We also did some market research to home we would construct our video together. This was because we wanted our music video to look to a professional standard
We also did some production research to how we was going to be able to get the correct equipment that we needed in order to do the music video. We had a look at different cameras but also at the same time we had a look at different tripods, we wanted to choose the right one the best fitted us but also our budget. We had shown what location we needed to use that best fitted us and our video.

Single camera techniques
single camera is used only using the one camera to create an advert for a new product. Also a single camera is also used to create a drama program for example scrubs. This program uses a single camera that would capture all the action and therefore the camera is then moved to a different place and used to create a new scene.
The benefits of single camera techniques?
When using a single camera some of the crew is therefore not needed, some of the shots are easier to film with a single camera as the camera is then able to get between the two actors and capture the action.
A single camera production is a production that is then filmed only using the one camera and this would then get all the action. The shot can be changed by stopping the filming and moving the actors and then re filming the action again but in a different place. This type of production is used to create a more less cinema type effect within a program of film. This can be suitable for when the director wants the audience to feel more involved in the action ahead, or watching it from a point of an actor. This is then able to create a different atmosphere. The main benefit of using single camera techniques is that its cheaper then using a multiple camera techniques.

Task 1 Research techniques
What is research?
Research is a small development in creative work used by people. Also its a use of the human knowledge in creativity this would then help people have a good understanding of research, also the uses of research and what's it good for. This would also include the knowledge of humanity culture and society. An example of research would be that to find out different things for different things. Another example would be to research things that you like and find out a bit about that thing you like. So this would then give you a knowledge of it so that you are then able to know more things about it for when someone asks you.
Primary research?
primary research is used by marketers to collect their own data when creating a design and then they would then carry out a research plan that would then consist of a primary research which means its their own research and nobody else research. As the primary research has became popular when needing to research people have found it much easier to come up with their own research from the top of their head instead of researching on the internet. There are 5 examples of primary research are creating a questionnaire, surveys, interviews, observations and testing, these are the different methods of primary research.
Advantages?
one advantage would be that you could use computer codeable for quick analysis and repetition.
Disadvantage?
It is impossible to check if people are responding honestly.
Secondary research?
secondary research is where it comes from another person its not first hand. This sort of research is where you find out other people research and then you put it into your own research. Also secondary research can be found on the internet, books, newspapers and other sorts of secondary research. an example of secondary research is where you different types of media for your research.
Advantage?
cheap also accessible- especially university library
Disadvantage?
lack of consistency of perspective
Quantitative research?
quantitative research is to be able to develop different things. The process of measurement is central to quantitative research because it provides the fundamental connection between empirical observation and mathematical expression of quantitative relationships. Also quantitative research is information derived from numbers. These sort of things can be taken from different things such as ratings figures which the broadcasting channel will collect from the broadcasters from the audience research board. a good example of this would be (BARB). There job is to be able to carry out a small black box that will therefore be attached to loads of millions of homes. Also the black box will therefore be able to record what is being watched and then the data that has been recorded then will be sent back to BARB and they will then change the information that they have been given and therefore change them into figures
Advantages?
An advantage of this is that it allows the researcher to measure and analyse different types of data.
A good example of quantitative is that its able to be analysed better as then the information that has been collected can be put into graphs or even tables. Another good example of this is that many different things can be carried out though check to see if the information is correct things such as tests this will therefore show to see if the information is correct. Another advantage of this is that if all the information that has been carried out has been accurately done in the right way.
Disadvantage?
The main disadvantage of quantitative research is the context of the study or experiment is ignored and never used.
A disadvantage for quantitative data is that the things needed to do this stuff is very expensive, this is because this has many respondents in the research but also loads of people are needed in all the researches so money is needed to be able to do all this.
Qualitative research?
qualitative research has an aim to be able to gather in a huge depth of understanding of the human behaviour also how the behaviour is caused, and how it can affect different people. This sort of research is different to all the other researches this is because it goes into more depth.
Advantages?
one advantage would be that Its able to strength is in uncovering more about people’s experience in which why things may be the way they are. As qualitative research focuses on small groups or individuals, it can also be less expensive than quantitative research which may require large groups of participants or expensive measurement tools are needed for the type of research.
Another advantage of this is that its way more detailed than quantitative research, this is because there many different examples that are needed but also different opinions from different peoples views of the research that is being carried out. The second advantage of qualitative research is that the person that is doing the research he doers not have to show what the research is about because he is the one that is doing the research. This is a good advantage because that all the data that has been collected must be accurate. Another advantage is that for the different people that are taking part in this research is that each of the individuals must be able to explain in there own words about the project that's being done so each person is doing there own part towards the research. This is a good example because more people will be able find out about this so therefore more people will; want to take part in the research, this will therefore researcher will be able to gain more information about each and every project that is being done.
Disadvantage?
Qualitative research is a small method that collects data about what you select as a group or for participants and how they might feel or think, or how they might behave. You can't really use this sort of data for groups of participants. It is not a research method that does not allows for the collection of data. However this is only a disadvantage if your research question also requires data. Adopting a mixed methods approach is one way of overcoming this problem.
Another disadvantage is that it will be hard for the researcher know how much of the influence that has been done for the data that has been taken.
Data gathering agencies
The roles of data gathering agencies are responsible in collecting and maintaining company-specific data and operating data entry devices.
Market research
Market research is an organized effort to gather information about markets or customers. This is important component in the business industry. marketing research is specifically about marketing in different processes, while market research is mainly with markets around England.
Market research is a key factor to get advantage over competitors and different events that happen. also market research is able to provide important information that is able to identify and analyse the market needed, market size and competition so that its able to be a success.
Also market research does in fact include both social, and opinion research. They are able to get information together about each and every individual or even the organisation that is being use4d to run the marketing.
A good example of an market research organisation is the market Research Society who’s job is to help all those who need the evidence to make good decisions for commercial and public policy. This company helps businesses by providing them evidence in order for them to make good decisions.
The purpose of market research is to be able to gather data on customers and potential customers. The collected data helps different business decision that are being made. This therefore reduces the risks involved in making these decisions.
What is production research
Production research is always needed when developing a new game or even a new product. It is research to help gain information on the things of the new product or event the developing product.
The purpose of production research is so that the producers are able to see what the costumer is wanting in the game and how you can offer that to them and how you plan on giving them what they want.
A good example of a production research company is IMDB which gives the company and the employee contact details to over 30,000 companies in the entertainment industry as well as representation listings for over 80,000 individuals, including actors, directors, and producers
The methods that are used in order to do production research are mood boards, storyboards , scripts mind maps, staff, cast, equipment, location, risk assessment, copyright and marketing and a lot more. These methods are used because the film maker knows what to do and knows what's happening when actually making and constructing the film.
